Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The hotel is right on the beach, very friendly and helpful reception, easy parking close to the room (maybe because hotel was not full). All the staff were friendly and breakfast was decent although perhaps a bit limited (only one cup of coffee included !) . Good choice of reasonable restaurants within walking distance.

Negative: The room was huge but more like a motel than a beach hotel in terms of decor. It was a fair walk through the property to the beach/restaurant/pool and it was close to the road. There were some cabins along the path to the beach which looked more in line with the jungly/beach atmosphere. We visited 2nd half November and the rainy season had finished (as is normal) yet the hotel (and 2 others we stayed at in Costa Rica) seemed pretty empty, in spite of the perfect weather. I was told it was the shoulder season yet the prices here (and elsewhere in coastal Costa Rica) seemed very much high season.

Summary: Great location but a bit 'tired' for the price.
