Completed in 2021, Angel del Mar is an open air, contemporary, tropical home perched on a lushly forested hillside overlooking the beach and the quaint surf town of Tamarindo. The property boasts a convenient, yet quiet location, with breathtaking ocean views, wide open social areas, infinity pool, outdoor shower, manicured landscaping, unforgettable sunsets and all the wonders of nature. If Tony Stark from the movie Ironman had a home in Costa Rica, Angel del Mar would be it. With 25 foot teak wood ceilings, travertine floors, and industrial size ceiling fans to circulate the tropical air throughout the wide-open social areas, Angel del Mar is truly an architectural wonder.
The social area flows seamlessly between the rancho, dining room, kitchen, family room and the pool. The house is designed so that at certain times of the day you can hardly tell if you're inside or outside the house. Sunrise, and especially sunset, are magical times of the day to enjoy the social areas of the house.
All the bedrooms, and the office, are separated from the main social areas by an open air rancho. This allows guests that want to retire early for the evening the peace and quiet they desire to sleep or simply relax. All bedrooms are setup with a private bathroom, shower, bidet, television, and easy access to terraces with views of the ocean below. Guests staying in the master bedroom on the second floor have a terrace to sit and enjoy the ocean and valley views, as well a private bridge that connects them to the home office at the other end of the house.

STAFF
Angel del Mar has three dedicated staff members that have worked for us for more than five years. Jose is our caretaker that lives just below the property, he's on call 24 hours a day, six days a week. Lidia and Elizabeth are the cleaning crew that cleans the house three days a week, and Jose Pina is our dedicated chef, that specializes in typical Costa Rican cuisine, but is capable of making any food you want.
All cooking services are NOT included in your rental fee. Jose Pina charges $200 to shop for food, prepare dinner and clean-up. Breakfasts are typically cooked by Lidia and Elizabeth, they charge $50 each for meal prep and clean-up.
OUR DAILY ROUTINE
We live in Park City, Utah, so when we're not skiing the powder, or biking the amazing single track trails in the surrounding mountains, we're in Costa Rica surfing some of the world's best warm water surf breaks. One of our favorite routines is to wake up early for an early morning surf session at Casitas, a break just on the other side of the estuary on Playa Grande. After a couple hours of surfing we usually head back the house to rinse off in the outdoor shower, then plunge into the infinity pool to re-live some of the amazing rides of the morning. 20 minutes later the staff usually has breakfast ready where we enjoy some amazing fresh fruits, parfaits, bacon, eggs and waffles. Just as you're thinking it can't get any better than that, there's always time for a power nap, a massage under the tree on the beach in front of Witches Rock, an afternoon surf session followed by a sunset walk along the beach. Now that's living!
WHY TAMARINDO?
Honestly, there isn't a town along that Pacific Coast of Costa Rica that has more to offer than Tamarindo. For surfers, Tamarindo is strategically located between some of the best surf breaks in the area. To the south lies Playa Guiones, Marbella, Playa Negra, Avellanas, and Langosta, and to the north lies Playa Grande, world famous Witches Rock and Ollies Point.
Tamarindo has over 100 restaurants, an equal number of shops, three banks, three super markets, four rental car companies, golf cart rentals, medical clinics, multiple pharmacies, and a tours for practically any type of tour you can imagine.
We're just 10 minutes to the Tamarindo Airport and one hour from the Liberia Airport.
